Client’s Need

The client needed a reliable in-plant solution to move finished coils from the production line to the designated storage area. The system had to maintain coil integrity, minimize handling time, and operate safely in narrow aisles with frequent direction changes.

Project Challenge

Coils with varying diameters and widths change the load’s center of gravity. Frequent starts, stops, and turns increase the risk of slippage and surface damage. A stable, repeatable restraint method and precise motion control were essential for safe, high-throughput transfers.

Our Solution

FADA designed and manufactured a 30-ton transfer cart with a V-shaped table that cradles the coil and keeps it centered throughout motion. The V-table features replaceable anti-slip pads and side retainers to prevent micro-movements. Drive software provides ramped acceleration and regenerative braking to preserve stability and reduce energy consumption.
